Manos Extendidas (Extended Hands) is a registered Christian ministry in Tegucigalpa, Honduras that demonstrates Jesus’ love by meeting the physical and educational needs of families, teens, and children. These practical acts of love build strong relationships that enable us to share the good news of Gospel so we can introduce them to Jesus Christ.
“Arise, cry out in the night pour of thine heart like water before the Lord: lift thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.” Lam.2:19
The call of our hearts is to the needy and abandoned children. These are the ones that live in impoverished neighborhoods or those that live on the streets. Many are there simply attempting to escape the poverty and physical or sexual abuse they experience at home.
Our vision involves going to the kids and teens on the streets to help them realize their lives are valuable and to build their self-worth by setting goals so they can reach their potential.
For those who desire a difference in their lives we provide assistance with education, helping to meet their basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter. We stress education as the doorway to opportunity. Their participation in the local church and attendance in school is an indicator their willingness to change.
Because we believe according to Acts 2:17, we stand by every needy and abandoned child possible to be an extension of God’s hands to those who turn to him, and conduct programs teaching youth and children seminars in various projects around the city.
